E-governance in India leverages ICT to enhance government service delivery, ensuring efficiency, accessibility, and transparency. Key initiatives include Digital India for digital empowerment and infrastructure; Aadhaar as a unique ID system facilitating identity verification and access to services; the National Portal of India offering centralized access to various governmental functions; MyGov enabling citizen participation in governance through feedback and policy contributions; and BHIM app promoting seamless digital payments via UPI. While these efforts have improved service quality significantly, challenges remain in making them universally accessible across rural areas with limited technology reach.
